Services and Pricing

One hour of massage is tailored for a single dog. This session is designed to address pain and tension in joints, muscles, and fascia (muscle membranes). My approach involves employing a variety of techniques, carefully selected based on the individual dog and the specific situation.

The 30-minute massage session is ideal for treatment practice or shorter sessions. During the handling exercise, the dog becomes accustomed to various handling techniques and massage practices. In a training scenario, the dog receives treatment similar to a massage, but with a focus on providing a soothing and relaxing experience without specifically targeting treatment outcomes across the entire dog.

Duration: 30 min

Fascial treatment is a gentle method where I address the fascias (muscle membranes), in puppies. Membrane tensions in puppies can potentially restrict movement and hinder normal muscle function. This treatment not only provides valuable handling experience for the puppy but also helps them become accustomed to interactions with strangers.

FAQ

» Refrain from strenuous exercise on the day of the massage.

» Take your dog for a light run or allow it to relieve itself before the massage.

» Avoid feeding your dog for approximately 2-3 hours before the massage.

» Feel free to review any relevant reports from a veterinarian, physiotherapist, or masseuse that may impact the massage.

Similar to humans, dogs’ muscles can experience soreness and tension. Activities like hobbies, slips on icy roads, leash pulling, encounters with other dogs, jogging on asphalt, or conditions like musculoskeletal disorders  can contribute to muscle tightness. Massage plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall well-being of dogs, and every dog deserves this therapeutic experience.

The effects of dog massage are comprehensive, benefiting all dogs irrespective of breed, size, or activity level. It serves to prevent injuries, enhance performance and mobility, and mitigate issues arising from scar tissue. Moreover, it provides relaxation and relief from pain conditions.

The appropriate massage interval is unique for each dog and may require experimentation to determine. Generally, maintenance massage is advised for active service dogs or those with musculoskeletal disorders every 1-2 months. For a healthy domestic dog, the required massage interval can be even longer.

Indicators that your dog may benefit from a massage include:

» Abnormal movement (slanted, stiff, etc.)
» Changes in stretching habits (more, less, not at all)
» Contralateral tail wagging
» Slouched or hunched back
» Sensitivity to touch
» Firm and tense muscles
» Reluctance to sit or adopting unusual sitting positions
» Tight and inelastic skin
» Restlessness during defecation

Yes, absolutely! If you wish, you can bring treats for your dog.

However, it’s advisable not to bring your dog for a massage on a full stomach. Please refrain from feeding your dog for approximately 2 hours before the massage, as being massaged with a full stomach can be uncomfortable for the dog.

» Keep your dog warm, especially in colder weather, by dressing them in clothes to maintain the warmth in the recently massaged muscles.

» Ensure your dog stays hydrated by offering a drink of water. If plain water is unappealing, consider adding a small amount of tuna or wet food to encourage drinking. Dogs may consume more water than usual after a massage.

» Leverage the boosted metabolism from the massage by allowing your dog some outdoor time as needed.

» A few hours post-massage, engage your dog in a short trotting run lasting around 30 minutes.

» For the remainder of the day and the following day, opt for lighter activities—avoid heavy training sessions or prolonged runs.

» Epilepsy
» Heart disease
» Visceral or endocrine disease
» Current use of cortisone, antibiotics, or pain medication
